Dina Ogànova

Dina Oganova was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1987, where she continues to live and work. A documentary photographer, curator and lecturer, she develops long-term personal projects exploring social and political realities, primarily in Georgia and across the post-Soviet region. Her work often focuses on questions of identity, collective memory, and the rights and experiences of women and young girls.

I Am Georgia
Sakartvelo is Dina Oganova’s home country, and she is deeply proud to have been born and raised there. Georgia is a small country with a big heart, home to around four million people, a significant proportion of whom live in the capital, Tbilisi.
Located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe, Georgia is bordered by the Black Sea to the west, Russia to the north, Turkey and Armenia to the south, and Azerbaijan to the southeast. Once one of the fifteen republics of the Soviet Union, Georgia regained its independence in 1991. The country has since been marked by conflict, including the civil war of the early 1990s and the 2008 war with Russia. Abkhazia and South Ossetia remain internationally recognized as part of Georgia, while being under Russian control.
